Street Parties
Our Street Party Prize Draw is now closed, but with a Diamond Jubilee and a whole summer of Olympic sport there are still plenty of reasons to celebrate with a street party
Congratulations to Archdale Road in South East London - the lucky winning street in our 2012 prize draw!
The prize includes enough pies to feed your street plus bunting, balloons and a few pieminister goodies chucked in for good measure!
Street parties are cheap as chips to run, and couldn’t be simpler to organise. With a little bit of team work and forward planning (and a quick look at our pieminister's street party hints & tips) you could have more fun than you ever imagined possible with your front door open.

Street party planning: some super hints & tips
When?
You’ll need about three months to organise your street party, so start planning NOW..
How?
Once you and a few neighbours have decided that you want to hold a street party and you’ve agreed on a date for the event there are three things to do immediately:
• Draft an invitation letter (some local councils may also have an official letter that they require you to use) and pop a copy through the door of every house/business in the street informing them of your plans. This is a good chance to arrange an open meeting and invite everyone to come along and get involved.
• Contact your local council to find out what they require from you in order to get the road closed for the day of your party. Getting permission generally takes between 4 and 12 weeks.
• And last but certainly not least - ENTER THE PIEMINISTER STREET PARTY PRIZE DRAW! All you need to do is complete the street party prize draw entry form and return it to us by the 14 May 2012 along with a copy of your invite to neighbours and also the letter or application sent to your local council.
Once you’ve got all the above in motion you can start planning the day. We've created a handy street party hints and tips sheet for anyone needing a bit of inspiration.
Have fun and Good Luck!
