We have a pair of dinner tickets up for grabs. Just look out for a tweet from @pieminister on Thursday 17 October, RT (and of course follow @TemwaUk!) and we’ll choose one lucky winner at 5pm the same day.

*Temwa was founded in 2003 by Bristol girls, Jo Hook and Sophie Elson- who’d been running a back-packers lodge in northern Malawi.

During the last 10 years Temwa has grown organically based on the needs as identified by the communities they serve.  Their work consists of a series of programmes that are aimed at providing sustainable community-driven development in four key areas: Health Education, Skills & Enterprise Development, Agriculture, Forestry and Schools Support. Each of these programme areas aim to build the capacity for change and, through guidance and support, stimulate the necessary action for community-led sustainable development.

Current on-going projects include: HIV and AIDS education; support and testing services; interest-free microfinance loans; community agroforestry and tree planting to address malnutrition and deforestation; sustainable farming initiatives to promote organic growing and environmentally friendly farming techniques; school building & bursary schemes; and the running of a community centre and library. Temwa’s projects complement each other, offering a holistic and positive approach to change.
