We Scooped Seven Stars at the 2026 Great Taste Awards

This haul takes the total number of current Great Taste Award winning pies to a dozen! Which means that all of our classic pies, including our gluten free range have been judged officially delicious and outstanding at 'the Oscars of the food world'.

When nearly 16,000 food and drink products from across the globe went under the blindfolds of the Great Taste judges this year (the most ever entered in the competition's history), two of our pies were rated so highly they landed in the top 10% of all products entered, earning a coveted 2-stars. A further three pies each picked up a star of their own.

Great Taste is judged blind by a panel of over 500 of the most demanding palates in the industry - chefs, food writers, retailers and producers. It's why the awards are so often described as the Oscars of the food world.

Mooless Moo — 2 Stars

Our plant-based 'steak' and ale pie

"A gorgeous and perfectly-formed pie. The pastry is impeccably cooked; snapping and crackling on the cut with deeply satisfying texture. The filling is textbook consistency with well-judged chunky vegetables, moist shredded mushrooms and the umami and richness are evident throughout."

Wildshroom — 2 Stars

Our vegetarian mushroom, asparagus and white wine pie

"A treat of a pie that really delivers on every level – great appearance, crisp pastry and well-cooked ingredients that display generosity."

Our plant-based and lowest carbon pie filled with Bold Bean Co queen chickpeas, sweet potato and cauliflower

"A generous-looking pie with an attractive fluted crust... the plant-based pastry works well, the filling has a good balance of spices, the vegetables are multi-textured with quality ingredients. It was a comforting eat overall."

Free Ranger — 1 Star

Our free range British chicken, ham and leek pie

"On the palate, there are lovely sweet moments of leek, salty bursts of ham and chicken flavour. The chicken is tender with no 'nasty bits'. The pastry is really crisp with a crunchy bottom."

Moo — 1 Star

Our farm assured British beef steak and ale pie

"the well cooked beef is falling apart, juicy and succulent in a thick and unctuous gravy."

Every single classic pie is made in-house, in small batches, in our own bakery, with no outsourcing or third-party production lines. We think this is why we've won so many Great Taste stars.

Our chef-led team of bakers hand-crafts each recipe, which means we can hold a level of quality control that simply isn't possible at mass-produced scale. That's only achievable because we're still an independent, family-run business, answering to our own standards.

We believe we're the UK's most sustainable national pie company, and as a B Corp our entire social and environmental impact is measured, from sourcing to packaging. But none of that would count for anything if the pies themselves weren't genuinely, blind-tasted-and-proven delicious.
